Two-step verification
With two-step verification, signing in also requires a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds on your phone. Even if someone finds out your password, they cannot get in without the code.
- Install an authenticator app
Use a free app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
- Turn it on in the dashboard
In Account and privacy, in the Two-step verification section, click Turn on. Point the app camera at the QR code (or type the key) and enter the 6 digits that appear.
- Keep the recovery codes
When you turn it on, 8 recovery codes appear. Copy, download or write them down and keep them in a safe place. Each one works once and lets you sign in if you lose your phone.
- Sign in normally
After your password (or Google), type the code the app shows at that moment.
To turn it off or generate new recovery codes, enter a current code from the app in the same section. You get an email whenever verification is turned on or off.
On the owner account and on team accounts, verification is required: until it is on, the dashboard and the team tools stay locked. On these accounts, the Turn off button becomes Switch phone.
